Forget AI hot takes. Anthropic — the company behind Claude — publishes an open dataset measuring what people actually do with AI, built from millions of real conversations. Their June 2026 release just landed, and we’ve turned it into a live interactive dashboard. Here’s what the real numbers say.

AI makes work 7× faster — measured, not estimated

The headline stat: a task that takes a human an estimated 4.7 hours alone takes about 39 minutes with AI assistance. That’s a 7.1× speedup, computed across the full breadth of real usage — not a vendor benchmark. In Denmark, the pattern holds: 3.9 hours down to 41 minutes.

AI amplifies people more than it replaces them

51% of global AI usage is augmentation — the human stays in the loop and the AI amplifies their work — versus 49% automation, where AI executes the task. Denmark leans even harder toward augmentation at 56.5%. And here’s the twist from Anthropic’s accompanying survey: the people who automate the most are the most optimistic about their pay, job security, and sense of meaning at work.

Almost nothing AI does is beyond humans

87.7% of tasks people hand to AI could be done by a human without it. AI’s value today isn’t doing the impossible — it’s doing the ordinary dramatically faster. The dataset estimates AI operates at a 12.7-years-of-education level in the tasks it’s given, slightly above the 11.8 years the same tasks demand of humans.

The daily rhythm of AI is very human

The report’s hourly data reads like a diary of modern life: news requests peak at 7 a.m., recipe queries spike 2.3× at 6 p.m., and sleep advice peaks at 5 a.m. Tax questions surged 8× the day before the US filing deadline. On weekends, personal use jumps from ~35% to nearly 50% of all conversations — and “how do I start a business” conversations peak on Saturdays and Sundays.

Denmark punches above its weight

Denmark’s per-capita AI usage index sits at 3.47 — nearly 3.5× the world average, ahead of the UK, Sweden and Germany. For Danish businesses the takeaway is simple: your market is already using AI heavily. The question is whether your business is.
